“Why Did I Get Married Again?”, which was filmed in four days, is the third movie in Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” series. The movie was written, directed, and produced by Tyler Perry and was made by Tyler Perry Studios. It was released on Netflix on September 9, 2026. The first movie debuted in 2007, followed by “Why Did I Get Married Too?” in 2010. After more than 15 years, the original group is back for another story.
Most of the important actors from the first two movies return. Tyler Perry (Terry), Sharon Leal (Dianne), Tasha Smith (Angela), Michael Jai White (Marcus), Jill Scott (Sheila), Lamman Rucker (Troy), and Richard T. Jones (Mike) are all back. Taraji P. Henson (Roselyn) is also part
of the cast this time. Armani Greer (Jasmine) and Everett Osborne (Wesley) play two of the important younger characters. I liked seeing so many familiar faces because it made the movie actually feel like a third installation instead of a completely different story.
The movie mainly focuses on the group coming back together for Jasmine and Wesley’s wedding in Italy. Jasmine is the daughter of Angela and Marcus, so her getting married gives the original group a reason to reunite. Of course, when this group gets together, everything does not go as smoothly as planned. There are funny moments, serious conversations, and problems involving love, marriage, and family.
Overall, I think “Why Did I Get Married Again?” was a good third installment to the franchise. It was nice seeing what happened to the characters after all of these years and how their lives have changed. The movie still has the comedy and drama aspect that made the first two movies entertaining, but it also focuses more on family and the next generation. I would highly recommend watching it on Netflix, especially if you’ve already seen the first two movies.
